Aubren Villasenor

Aubren Villasenor is an award-winning journalist specializing in open source investigations, social media strategy, and digital storytelling. He most recently worked at WCBS New York, supporting breaking news coverage and newsgathering operations.

Aubren served as Social Content Lead at Temple University, where he developed Instagram and TikTok content aimed at engaging younger audiences. During his internship with NBC News' Social Newsgathering team, he focused on open source investigations, social media verification, and digital reporting. His work has been featured across NBC platforms, including NBC Nightly News, TODAY, and NBC News Special Reports.

Aubren is also an experienced broadcast journalist, having served as a reporter and anchor for Ithaca College Television. There, he developed strong multimedia reporting skills as a one person "backpack journalist," shooting, writing, editing, and producing stories independently.

His work has earned numerous honors, including three Emmy Award nominations recognizing excellence in television news and digital storytelling.

Aubren graduated from Ithaca College in 2024 with dual bachelor's degrees in Journalism and Violin Performance. Outside the newsroom, he enjoys performing on the violin, exploring the outdoors, and traveling
